After two days of questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi got a break today.

The Congress leader has been asked to join the probe on Friday again by the ED in connection with the National Herald case.

However, according to sources, Gandhi has requested for rescheduling of tomorrow’s time and has requested ED to push back his tomorrow’s scheduled questioning with the agency.

According to a report in NDTV, Gandhi has requested push back of his tomorrow scheduled questioning, since he is with his mother Sonia Gandhi at the hospital.

Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are with their mother at the Delhi’s Ganga Ram hospital, the report said. She was admitted to the hospital over Covid-related complications.

The Congress leader left the ED office after 9 PM on Wednesday.

The former Congress chief appeared before the ED for the third consecutive day on Wednesday for questioning.

He was questioned in detail about the ownership of Young Indian Private Limited (YIL) by the Gandhi family and its shareholding pattern in Associated Journals Limited (AJL), the company that runs the National Herald newspaper, as quoted by news agency PTI.

The National Herald, started by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, was published by the AJL. In 2010, the AJL, which faced financial difficulties, was taken over by a newly-floated YIL with Suman Dubey and Sam Pitroda as directors, both of them Gandhi loyalists.
